Year 5 Maths
During the Spring term in our Year 5 classes, children are focusing on multiplication and division through the White Rose Maths scheme. They are developing fluency, using efficient methods and applying their understanding to solve increasingly complex problems. Children have really enjoyed using Magma , an interactive resource that enhances their maths learning by giving them opportunities to apply their knowledge through both fluency practice and reasoning problems.

Ready, Set, Read!
This term, all year groups have been provided with Read, Set, Read books. These carefully selected texts are designed to challenge pupils, develop reading fluency and extend vocabulary. The books include high- quality stories from a wide range of authors, cultures, and backgrounds. This approach helps to promote a love of reading, encouraging children to read widely and enjoy books both in school and at home.

Black Country Museum Trip
s part of Year 5’s History learning this term, pupils have been studying the Industrial Revolution. During their visit to the Black Country Living Museum, children were able to experience what life may have been like during this period. The children explored a Victorian schoolroom, visited a range of shops and homes and had the opportunity to learn about coal mining and the industries that developed during this time.
